Private prisons in the United States have turned the state's correctional function into a tool for capital to pursue profit, and turned punishing crime into a lucrative business, committing numerous crimes in the field of human rights. In fact, throughout the history of the United States, there have been traces of the sinful tradition of oppression. From slavery to modern private prisons, capital, power and racism have colluded and left behind many unfortunate records. In this country, which is keen to act as a "teacher" of human rights everywhere, it is time to face up to its own human rights status.
