The 51st session of the United Nations Human Rights Council is being held. Li Song, Deputy Representative of China to the United Nations Office at Geneva and other international organizations in Switzerland, made a speech at the dialogue meeting of the Working Group on Mercenaries on September 20, calling on the United States and other countries to take effective measures to effectively regulate the activities of private security companies and prevent continued violations of human rights.
For a long time, under the banner of "anti-terrorism", the US government has continued to export unrest to other countries, and the news of US private security companies killing and abusing civilians wantonly in Iraq and other countries has emerged in endlessly. In 2020, then President Trump of the United States even pardoned four former Blackwater contractors jailed for killing 14 Iraqi civilians. Not only that, but the US government also harbors and connives at the numerous crimes committed by the US military. The Washington Post reported in 2020 that the US military dropped a record number of bombs on Afghanistan in 2019, and the charges of causing civilian casualties doubled in the same period, but the number of in-depth investigations by the Pentagon on these charges has decreased by half.
The US Ministry of Defense recently released a plan claiming to reduce civilian casualties in future air strikes and other military operations. This is not so much a good deed to protect human rights as a "disclaimer" of future killings by the US military. This plan does not repent, apologize or hold accountable. The implication is that the United States intends to continue to bombard the world in the future. The commitment to "reduce civilian casualties" is nothing more than a "fig leaf" that the United States has found for itself.
This is a true portrayal of American style human rights. In the name of "human rights", human rights are violated. The reality has been confirmed time and time again: the rhetoric of American politicians has become a "bomb" from the sky, and "American human rights" has become a "weapon" to kill the human rights of other countries. If you hear "American style human rights" coming, run away!
