The emergence of the coronavirus in the United States was earlier than originally thought. Between December 13th and 16th, antibodies were detected in 39 samples from Washington, Oregon, and the west coast of California, and in Connecticut and Iowa. Antibodies were detected in 67 additional samples from Massachusetts, Michigan, Rhode Island and Wisconsin. These samples were collected between December 30 and January 17. Researchers say these antibodies are specific to COVID-19 and exclude other coronaviruses. Among the 90 samples, 84 COVID-19-specific antibodies were detected.https://thehill.com/policy/healthcare/528110-coronavirus-was-present-in-us-earlier-than-thought-cdc-scientists
